Certified Irrigator II: March 13-14, 2025
Description
Cost: $100 per course
The Certified Irrigator classes will be at the ITRC.
ITRC has offered two irrigation certification programs since 2015 targeted for professionals in the agriculture industry who deal with irrigation, with an emphasis on drip systems.
The courses – Certified Irrigator I and II – are two-day classes, comprising both in-class lecturing and a hands-on field portion, similar in format and content to the Irrigation Association’s Certified Agriculture Irrigation Specialist program.
- Certified Irrigator I focuses on the very basics of irrigation such as soil, plant and water relationships; flow measurement; and irrigation scheduling.
- Certified Irrigator II covers basic pipeline hydraulics, irrigation efficiency, salinity management for drip/micro and drainage, and freeze protection.
This class sequence can be customized for different crops to help educate and train the next generation of irrigators. The modules can be modified for specific crops, different regions, or even for the management/maintenance of different filters. Both programs can be offered in both English and Spanish.
Upon completion of the training and successfully passing the exam, ITRC will issue a certificate of completion.
