ITRC Flap Gates are typically used with a steel counterweight in situations where location space for the gate is minimal, the gate is narrow (24" to 48") and somewhat deep (18" to 36"). The files on this page contain all of the information needed to construct an ITRC Flap Gate with a steel ballast.  There are now programs for two different steel counterweight designs--square or round discs.  The drawings show the round discs but they are equally usable for the square counterweight design program.  For information about Flap Gates with a concrete ballast, click here.  To download the design programs in Microsoft Excel, click on the link below.
